Structure
This highest-level legislative body of Bosnia and Herzegovina consists of two Houses: the House of Representatives and the House of Peoples. All legislative decisions enter into force upon adoption by both Houses of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH.
The House of Representatives comprises of 42 members, two thirds of which are directly elected from the territory of the Federation of BiH and one third from the territory of the Republika Srpska. The majority of all members elected in the House of Representatives constitute a quorum.
The House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH has 15 delegates, two thirds of whom are from the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (five Bosniak and five Croat delegates) and one third comes from Republika Srpska (five Serb delegates). The nominated Bosniak and Croat delegates from the Federation of BiH are elected by Bosniak and Croat delegates respectively in the House of Peoples of the Federation of BiH, while the delegates from the Republika Srpska are elected by the National Assembly of the Republika Srpska.
The House of Peoples works in line with the BiH Constitution, the law and the Rules of Procedure of the House.
